Mokuhanga: Principles of Japanese Design with Patty Hudak, Nov. 1 & 2, 10am - 4 pm,

This two-day workshop introduces Japanese woodblock printing (mokuhanga) through the study of composition and design. Participants will begin with black-and-white paper cutouts to explore shape, proportion, and the principles of empty space and asymmetry. These designs will be developed into carved woodblocks, followed by printing with color layering, soft gradations (bokashi), and monoprinting.

Attention will be given to the subtle use of color to convey atmosphere and detail.

All levels of experience are welcome!

Workshop Cancellation Policies:

If Two Rivers Printmaking Studio needs to cancel a workshop, all participants will receive a full refund. Decisions about whether to cancel a workshop will be made no later than one week before the workshop date.

If a participant cancels up to one week before the workshop date, credit will be given for a future workshop, less $25 administration fee.

If a participant cancels less than one week before the workshop date, there will be no refund or credit given.
